Effective management of acute pain includes improving quality of care by use of effective pain management guidelines and awareness of the risks and benefits of existing and new therapies. Implementation of these guidelines and appropriate use of available therapies is essential in order to avoid the detrimental effects of poorly treated pain. This highly interactive educational program will review recommended acute pain management strategies, including multimodal therapy and new therapeutic options.
This Practitioner’s Edge program will include an in-depth discussion of guideline recommendations and evidence-based use of therapies related to the management of acute pain in order to provide the most current, relevant information available. A real-world, clinically-challenging video case study involving the treatment and management of a patient with acute pain will be included and will offer attendees the opportunity to work through the case study with a panel of nationally recognized experts.
