REMS: What Do You Need to Know as a Prescriber? Experiences with the First Opioid REMS Program
Non-CME Corporate Dinner Session
This non-CME corporate session will begin with a review of the background on the evolution of REMS programs. The implications of REMS on key stakeholders such as clinicians, patients, and pharmaceutical manufacturers will be discussed, specifically in regard to pain management. The session will then review the overall goal of The FOCUS™ Program for Onsolis®, which is to mitigate the risk of Onsolis overdose, abuse, addiction, and serious complications due to medication errors. After completion of the session, clinicians will understand the proper dosing and administration of Onsolis, be able to assure proper patient selection, and be able to reduce the risk of exposure to Onsolis in persons for whom it was not prescribed, such as accidental exposure in children.
